Bio

Eamon Dooley is an emerging Melbourne-based baritone, recognised for his musical sensitivity and a growing body of work including performances with Victorian Opera, Short Black Opera, and as a prolific soloist. His work spans opera, oratorio, art song and chamber music, with performances praised for their warmth, clarity, and character detail.

Eamon’s principal roles include “Baburov” in Victorian Opera’s emerging artists production of Melbourne, Cheremushki at the Melbourne Arts Centre, “Mr Waa” in Short Black Opera’s Parrwang Lifts the Sky at the Melbourne Arts Centre, and multiple roles in Victorian Opera’s English Eccentrics at the Union Theatre.

In addition to his principal work, Eamon has sung in the chorus for Victorian Opera productions including La Cenerentola, Capriccio, La Rondine, and Bernstein’s Candide, as well as for the joint Victorian Opera and Opera Australia production of Mills’ new Australian work Eucalyptus.

After earning a first-class Diploma in Music Performance from the Melbourne Conservatorium alongside studies in design, Eamon continued his development under some of Australia’s leading operatic artists as a Graduate scholar with Opera Scholars Australia, including performances as an Aria finalist in 2022 and 2024.

A versatile artist, Eamon has extensive experience as a choral and chamber singer, performing with the Alchemy Consort, National Youth Choir of Australia, Melbourne Cappella Chamber Choir, and as Principal Bass for the Choir of Newman College. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Melbourne Baroque Orchestra and for the Organs of Ballarat Goldfields Festival.
